DEFAULTSORT and gentes?
Agricola, I see you've added something called DEFAULTSORT here. From the changes you've made I can guess what this does, and it's a good idea, but...
When people are listed in their gens category, we want them listed by cognomen, not by nomen. Otherwise they'll all be listed under the same letter. Is there any way to override the default in the particular case of that category?

- Yes, I added that bit just now. The piped sort key in the gens cat should over-ride the DEFAULTSORT. The general rule is that MediaWiki goes with whatever is called for last on the page. The piped cat is after the DEFAULTSORT, so we should be OK. There is no need to specify the whole name in bibliographic format as the sort key (DEFAULTSORT or piped in the cat tag) does NOT change the display format, just the sort order. If we want excruciatingly exact sorting it is enough to specify "Agerius Axus Aulus" or whatever. No need for punctuation etc. Agricola 02:29, 7 September 2007 (CEST)
- Nifty, thanks.
