V for VikiMagister, eh?

Actually I'm not here to comment on the photo, I was wondering how to get to the top category now that the link to it has gone off the main page - I used to find it quite useful. Cordus 13:58, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

What exactly are you trying to get to? Marcus Octavius Germanicus(t)

Nothing in particular, it's just nice to be able to see what all the categories are, e.g. so if I'm adding a new article I know what categories to put it in, and also just to get to things which don't link from the main page, like the "Nova Roma History" section. But it's not a big problem, it would just be handy. Cordus 17:41, 18 April 2006 (CDT)

LINK OF THE LEFT MENU TO THE PROPER LANGUAGE

Salve Octavi

I do not know how I can link the page http://www.novaroma.org/index.html.es to http://www.novaroma.org/nr/ES:Main_Page in wich the left menu (Navigation, etc.) appears also in spanish language.

I saw that it is possible if you are a registered user and in "preferences" you choose the language (spanish in my case), but it is possible for a non registered users?

Style Manual?

Salve, magister!

I could have sworn we had a style manual here, maybe as recently as last week...where'd it go? (I was going to tweak what it said about citing published works...)

Translating CURRENTYEAR

Salve Gracche.

I've been updating the Latin version of the main page to match the new layout of the English page, and of course while doing that I've made all the links link to the Latin versions of the other relevant pages (in theory - actually these mostly redirect to the English ones until I can translate them too), but I'm stumped on translating the "Magistrates" link in the "Res Publica" box, which in English is Magistrates, so in Latin it should be Magistrátús.

The problem is that CURRENTYEAR appears to be no ordinary template but some fiendishly clever thing which I don't understand, and therefore I can't work out how to make a HICANNUS template which does the same thing but in Latin (i.e. automatically links to LA:2007 during 2007, to LA:2008 during 2008, and so on). Can you help?

By the way, I'll tell you what would be extremely good if it could be made to work - to rejig the wiki in such a way that when a link points to a LA: page (or a DE: page or whatever) it will automatically redirect to the equivalent English page if and only if there is no text on the LA: (or DE: or whatever) page. That way links to untranslated pages would never go dead and we wouldn't have to redirect every untranslated page manually. But I don't know whether such a thing could be done.

Thanks!
