He also serves as soldier in the Legio XXI Rapax, but his general contributions to Nova Roma in Pannonia are significant in all aspects of promoting Nova Roma and organizing civic life within the province. In macronational life, Q. Arrius served in the Armed Forces, within the Navy (River Fleet), hence his cognomen. Q. Arrius learned Latin in high school, which gave a solid ground for his amateur erudition of Roman studies.
