The second legion of Nova Roma which bears the name Legio XX Valeria Victrix has been founded in Provincia Germania and thus it is differentiated by the agnomen "Germanica" from our other Legio XX Valeria Victrix in our Provincia Britannia. The Legio XX Valeria Victrix Germanica is a fully Nova Roman legion, which means that all members of the legion must be Nova Roman citizens. The Legio XX Valeria Victrix was founded by C. Artorius Praeconinus, and it was recruited as an official legion of Nova Roma in Id. Quin. C. Cethego Q. Arrio (IV) cos. MMDCCLXXVI a.u.c.. C. Artorius is also the current legatus legionis and a tesserarius.

Command

The ceremonial supreme commanders of all legions within Nova Roma are the consules of Nova Roma, and the praetores are the vice-supreme commanders.

The provincial ceremonial commander-in-chief of the Legio XX Valeria Victrix (and all other legionary units in Provincia Britannia), is the governor of Germania and the Dioecesis Europae Celticae et Germanicae, the dux et legatus pro praetore Cn. Cornelius Lentulus. The proquaestor of Germania, C. Flavius Stilicho, and the legatus of Germania, C. Artorius Praeconinus are the provincial deputy commanders-in-chief. There is a regio-level of command in Provincia Germania, which is again filled by C. Artorius Praeconinus as proquaestor of Regio Germania Inferior et Superior et Magna.

The ceremonial commander-in-chief of the legion is now the legatus legionis C. Artorius Praeconinus, who is the actual commander of our Legio XX Valeria Victrix Germanica.
