Societas Via Romana
The Societas Via Romana (Roman Way Society) is a "multicultural, creative and organic society that celebrates the legacy of the classical world." The SVR began Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. ‡ MMDCCLIV a.u.c. with an initial membership largely composed of Nova Roma citizens and ex-citizens, many of whom had been members of the amici dignitatis. The SVR is composed of collegia devoted to exploring particular topics of classical history and life. For the group as a whole, the structure is based on that of the Roman republic, with titles drawn from those of the magistrates of Rome.
Six years after its founding, the Societas Via Romana continues to prosper, and there are a considerable number of persons who are members of both organisations.
