Proconsul (the last governor)

The dissolved Provincia California Angelensis of Nova Roma comprised the U.S. State of California, south of Paso Robles and Delano, and it existed between a.d. IX Kal. Nov. L. Sulla (III) cos. sine collega MMDCCLXVI a.u.c. and Non. Oct. Q. Arrio (II) T. Domitio (III) cos. MMDCCLXXIII a.u.c., after the original Provincia California et Nevada (usually referred to as Provincia California only) was divided into two halves, California Angelensis (centered on Los Angeles) and California Franciscensis (centered on San Francisco) by L. Sulla Felix in his year as sole consul, and the State of Nevada was detached and added to Provincia America Deserta (also discontinued). Before the division, the governor of Provincia California was Q. Fabius Maximus, and he was re-appointed to continue in both halves of the former province, so the division didn't cause any change and was entirely unnoticeable and meaningless; it was considered one of the nonsensical bureaucratic steps of the past Nova Roman governments dominated by L. Sulla and Cn. Caesar.

The senate dissolved both Provincia California Angelensis and California Franciscensis on Non. Oct. Q. Arrio (II) T. Domitio (III) cos. MMDCCLXXIII a.u.c. and united them back into a single Provincia California, but without the State of Nevada, which is now part of Provincia America Hispanica
