The dioecesis is a superprovince of Nova Roma, comprised of provinces which administratively are not independent, but are centrally governed. The dioecesis of Europa Celtica et Germanica comprises those European provinces which are in need of reorganization and reactivation. It includes the following four subprovinces:

Subprovince Countries (links to provincial lists/web pages included) Current lieutenant-governor
I Provincia Gallia France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Monaco
II Provincia Germania Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Netherlands legatus C. Artorius Praeconinus
proquaestor C. Flavius Constantinus Aeneas Stilicho
III Provincia Hispania Spain and Portugal
IV Provincia Thule Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland proquaestor Ap. Curius Rullus

In the first decade of Nova Roma, these provinces were flourishing and full of initiative and projects. Conventions, meetings, reenactments and even an online academy were organized by Nova Romans of these communities. However, in the past couple of years, activity and civic life decreased and these provinces are experiencing functional problems.

The senate of Nova Roma decided to join up these communities that need reactivation and re-organization, and Cn. Cornelius Lentulus has been chosen by the senate, due to his successful work in revitalizing other inactive subdivisions of Nova Roma, for the role of overall governor, the dux of the Dioecesis of Europa Celtica et Germanica. His task is to establish a solid structure, administration and basic, functioning community for Gallia, Germania, Hispania and Thule, and to give them back to local leaders as soon as possible.

If you belong to any of the merged provinces, visit the provincial pages which are listed above, and join the provincial forum. Help us to reactivate these provinces!
