The
Tabularium was built by
Lucius Cornelius Sulla "Felix," (
dictator 83-80 BCE). It was designed to house Rome's bureaucracy. In it were stored the laws, edicts, and treaties that Rome's magistrates produced. The Tabularium (or "Hall of Records") is located at the west end of the
Forum Romanum.
