Founding Documents

The Oppidum rules are stipulated by the FOEDVS DE CONSTITVTIONE OPPIDVM LAVREATVM and the Lex Fabia de Oppidis et Municipiis. The application to create the oppidum was approved by legatus pro praetore Gnaeus Iulius Caesar on a.d. XVII Kal. Ian. M. Moravio T. Iulio cos. MMDCCLXI a.u.c..

Geography

Oppidum Laureatum is a local subdivision of Provincia Canada Ulterior. It consist of the cities of Edmonton, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc and Spruce Grove. It also includes Sturgeon County, Strathcona County, Parkland County and Leduc County.

Current Magistrates

The two Aediles Oppidi act as co-mayors and are the highest ranking magistrates of the oppidum. There duties include summoning the Comitia Oppidana, issuing edicta pertaining to the operation of Oppidum Laureatum, maintaining the album civum and the tabularium, and pronouncing intercessio another local magistrate of equal or lesser authority.

Quintus Suetonius Paulinus and Gaius Vipsanius Agrippa were appointed provisional aediles on a.d. XVII Kal. Ian. M. Moravio T. Iulio cos. MMDCCLXI a.u.c. and have sixty days from this date to call the comitia oppidana to order for the election of new aediles.
