The Roman Days of Nova Roma were the first main annual central conventions of Nova Roma held within the frames of the Roman Days festival, organized by our partners, the Legio XX as an festival meeting for American Roman reenactment groups, and it was the major Roman reenactment event in America for a long period. The Nova Roma section of this event can be considered the predecessor of the International Grand Conventus of Nova Roma, albeit it was not yet extended so as to invite all citizens from all provinces.
The first Roman Days of the Legio XX were held one year before the founding of Nova Roma, perhaps even serving as its catalysator.
The I Roman Days of Nova Roma convention was held at the II Roman Days festival of the Legio XX, in Fl. Vedio M. Cassio cos. ‡ MMDCCLI a.u.c., and it was presided by the founding consuls of Nova Roma. This event served as one of the most important meeting opportunities for Nova Romans in America, and in the first years, as the most important annual event of Nova Roma.
The Roman Days of Nova Roma were held at each Roman Days festival between Fl. Vedio M. Cassio cos. ‡ MMDCCLI a.u.c. and St. Cornelia C. Aemilio cos. ‡ MMDCCLXVII a.u.c. when the festival ceased to be organized.
