Political involvement

Gnaeus Dionysius Draco was one of the original signatories of the Amici Dignitatis statement. Despite being underage, he successfully ran for Aedilis Plebis in Q. Maximo M. Minucio cos. MMDCCLIII a.u.c., but the Senate refused to grant him the exception to take up the office, as provided by the Constitution. In Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c. he again announced his intentions to run for Aedilis Plebis, and got a waiver from the Senate to do so. Though elected, he did not take up his office due to his brief resignation after his loyalties to Nova Roma had been called into doubt.

Societas Via Romana

In the course of Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c., Gnaeus Dionysius Draco founded the Societas Via Romana together with his former paterfamilias, the controversial Marcus Apollonius Formosanus. By the time the Societas was publicly announced in Formosanus's resignation letter of December Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c., it had attracted a small but growing membership of mostly ex-citizens associated with the Amici Dignitatis.
