Gnaeus Dionysius Draco became a citizen of Nova Roma a.d. IX Kal. Sext. of Q. Maximo M. Minucio cos. MMDCCLIII a.u.c. under the name of Sextus Apollonius Draco. M. Octavio L. Sulla (II) cos. MMDCCLV a.u.c. he was also briefly known as Marcus Octavius Solaris.

Involvement in Nova Roma

Cn. Dionysius helped founding the Sodalitas Musarum Q. Maximo M. Minucio cos. MMDCCLIII a.u.c. and was its Coryphaeus Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c.. He was also instrumental in organising provincia Gallia and getting its status approved under the senate Q. Maximo M. Minucio cos. MMDCCLIII a.u.c., under the propraetorship of Ianus Querius Armoricus Lutecio.

Political involvement

Cn. Dionysius was one of the original signatories of the amici dignitatis statement. Despite being underage, he successfully ran for aedilis plebis Q. Maximo M. Minucio cos. MMDCCLIII a.u.c., but the senate refused to grant him the exception to take up the office, as provided by the constitution. Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c. he again announced his intentions to run for aedilis plebis, and got a waiver from the senate to do so. Though elected, he did not take up his office due to his brief resignation after his loyalties to Nova Roma had been called into doubt.

Societas Via Romana

Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c., Cn. Dionysius founded the Societas Via Romana together with his former paterfamilias, the controversial Marcus Apollonius Formosanus. By the time the Societas was publicly announced in Formosanus's resignation letter of December Fl. Vedio (II) M. Cassio (II) cos. MMDCCLIV a.u.c., it had attracted a small but growing membership of mostly ex-citizens associated with the amici dignitatis.
