Provincia Germania is a province of Nova Roma which was re-established in the modern era Kal. Feb. Q. Maximo M. Minucio cos. MMDCCLIII a.u.c.. The Nova Roman Germania contains the countries of Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Cn. Cornelius Lentulus, the temporary legatus pro praetore (governor) of Provincia Germania and dux of the Dioecesis of Europa Celtica et Germanica (Germania, Gallia, Britannia and Thule) has been chosen by the senate, due to his successful work in revitalizing other inactive subdivisions of Nova Roma, and has been given the task to establish a solid structure, administration and basic, functioning community for Germania. Currently, due to its inactivity, our Germania province is organizationally joined up with the provinces of Gallia, Britannia and Thule, and is part of the temporary umbrella unit the Dioecesis Europae Celticae et Germanicae, which was put under Cn. Lentulus' responsibility as its dux. His task is to do the same reorganization in these provinces, and to give them back to local leaders as soon as possible.

The province has two subdivisions, Regio Germania Inferior et Superior et Magna (Germany), led by provincial proquaestor C. Flavius Stilicho and Regio Noricum et Raetia (Austria and Switzerland), led by proquaestor C. Artorius Praeconinus. The Netherlands and Liechtenstein are not part of any regio.

The Germanian legatus of Cn. Lentulus, C. Artorius Praeconinus is working on several projects for the vitalization of our province in Germania. Provincial legions

Nova Roma has three official legions at the moment in Provincia Germania, the allied Legio XIV Comitatensis - Quartodecimani, commanded by tribunus C. Flavius Stilicho, the allied Cohors VI Raetorum, commanded by praefectus L. Helvenatius Remus, and the fully Nova Roman Legio XX Valeria Victrix Germanica, commanded by legatus C. Artorius Praeconinus.

Projects and partnerships

A project of two Nova Roman citizens of Provincia Germania, D. Gratius Ludovicus and Albia Corvina, Mos Maiorum - Der Römische Weg is an excellent, well-researched and very informative blog about Roman religion and culture, in German language:

Nova Roma has a fruitful cooperation with a reenactment legion residing in Provincia Germania, the Legio XIV Comitatensis "Quatuordecimani" (Project Quartodecimani), in conjunction with Provincia Pannonia.

Another allied reenactment unit of Nova Roma in the province is the Cohors VI Raetorum, ran by the famous Heni Speck and her "Traumwelten" company, well-known for making authentic fabric for reenactment using authentic dying technics.

A fully Nova Roman, new legion of Nova Roma in Provincia Germania is the Legio XX Valeria Victrix "Germanica", the second legion of Nova Roma that honors the ancient Roman Legio XX Valeria Victrix:

Our province hosts and is cooperating with ancient Rome Instagram star D. Claudius who, at his Decimus Claudius Instagram page, publishes about his travels around all the former cities of the Roman empire, visiting and documenting ruins, archaeological parks and museums. He has visited several hundreds of Roman sites and has approximately 70.000 followers:
