CIV-Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus.jpg

Cn. Cornelius Lentulus
legatus pro praetore

The Provincia of Pannonia in Nova Roma is composed of Hungary and Slovenia. Previously it included Czechia and Slovakia, too, which were organized as Regio Marcomannia and Civitas Boihaemum, but after successful community development they became a new province, Provincia Marcomannia. Provincia Pannonia is subdivided into one regio: Regio Rostallonensis, with the local community Burgus Colonia Rostallo within it. Pannonia has seven Nova Roman communities, making Pannonia the most active and productive province of Nova Roma: one burgus, four reenactment legiones and two gladiatorial groups. Among the four legions, there are fully Nova Roman legiones: the Legio XXI Rapax, the Cohors VI Carpathica and the newest and smallest one, the Cohors I Atilia.

Our old (obsolete) website was this: Pannonia Provincia

Regio Rostallonensis
Regio Rostallonensis is a territorial subdivision of Provincia Pannonia based on the Hungaria county Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, and it is concentrated around the local community of Burgus Colonia Rostallo, and the Cohors VI Carpathica stationed therein. It is led by praefectus regionis C. Villius Vulso
Gladiator societies of Nova Roman Pannonia
There are two associated gladiatorial groups within Nova Roman Pannonia: the very respected Familia Gladiatoria Pannonica, which was the first ever gladiatorial reenactor group in the world, founded in 1985 by M. Aurelius Cotta Iovius, one of the first citizens of Nova Roma, and the other is the Ludus Gladiatorum "Aquincum", founded by M. Flavius Memnon.
Legions within Nova Roman Pannonia
There are three fully Nova Roman reenactor legiones under the command of the legatus pro praetore (governor) of the province: the Legio XXI Rapax, founded in 2002, the Cohors VI Carpathica, founded in 2011, and the newest and smallest one, the Cohors I Atilia, founded in 2020. Besides its own legions, Pannonia also has an allied legion, maintaining a friendly cooperation with the Legio II Adiutrix, a reenactment legion in Hungary.
