Album Civium

Imperator Sex. Lucilius Tutor censorial and consular senator is one of the special generals, commanders-in-chief of the Nova Roman Reenactment Armes as proconsul in command of a number of legions. He served the res publica as head of state three times, twice as consul, once as tribunus militum consulari potestate.

He was praetor, vice-president of the republic in M. Pompeio Sex. Lucilio cos. MMDCCLXVIII a.u.c., but due to the lack of candidates (the collegiate consulship missed one of the consules), he did not serve out that term but offered himself to run for consulship, and served as consulfor the remainder of that year. During his praetorship, Sex. Lucilius and his colleague reintroduced multilingualism, the free use of languages other than English, to the Nova Roman mailing list forum, with special emphasis on the support of the free use of Latin. As part of his praetorial projects, he organized the Ludi Apollinares of the year M. Pompeio Sex. Lucilio cos. MMDCCLXVIII a.u.c..

During the third "civil war" he fought in defense against the coup d'état of Cn. Caesar and L. Sulla, he served as one of the four tribunus militum consulari potestate, special heads of state in the year Sex. Lucilio C. Claudio P. Annaeo Q. Catulo tr. mil. cos. pot. MMDCCLXX a.u.c. when there were no consuls elected. He was one of the principal leaders of the Saving Nova Roma Movement, and as proconsul, one of the leaders of the legions that fought through legal and social activities to save Nova Roma. After his term as consular tribune, he served as censor between C. Claudio T. Domitio (II) cos. MMDCCLXXI a.u.c. - Q. Arrio P. Annaeo cos. MMDCCLXXII a.u.c..

For his contributions to the victory, he was acclaimed imperator twice and the senate voted a triumph for him.

Sex. Lucilius lives in Civitas Boihaemum within Provincia Marcomannia. He is the author and owner of the Czech Portál Antika, an extensive online publication about ancient Roman and Greek antiquities.
