His passion for classical studies started at a young age, when he was gifted a copy of Livy’s "Ab urbe condita". It was through this important work that he was exposed to the rich world of the ancient Romans. The aspects that most impress him about the Romans are the following: their adherence to the ancestral mores; their rhetorical skill; their complex mechanisms of government; the resolute architecture; their famous military advancements; and their detailed religious and cultural traditions.
