All applicants must be registered as a citizen for at least 6 months and ideally be considered a permanent resident (although not mandatory) within Provincia Australia (Australia and New Zealand). Aurelius Ingeniarius started to develop an active local community of Nova Roma within Australia with promising success, entering contact with various Roman cultural organizations with the potential of alliance. As proconsul with supervising authority, I applaud and recognize the efforts of D. Aurelius. The governor of Australia, M. Claudius Nero legatus pro praetore is unfortunately incapacitated to conduct the necessary guiding and directing work and oversight, as he is located in a different geographical area, and as he is busy with other obligations and is currently unable to conduct fast and effective leadership, therefore I intervene with my imperium maius possessed over Australia and give the necessary authorizations to D. Aurelius Ingeniarius in order to build an active province of Nova Roma.

Consilium Provinciae

The consilium provinciae, or provincial council, is a subgroup of governor-appointed staff who are recognised for their rank, experience or diplomatic ties to the province and Nova Roma. The governor determines who sits in the provincial council. In provincia Australia, the provincial council acts as an advisory body to the governor.

Cohors Praetoria - Structure & Positions

The following is an overview of the list of positions considered available by the current governor. Note that positions are only officially established once an incumbent is appointed. Appointments are made under the authority of the Governor, in accordance with V.C.2 of the lex Cornelia Domitia de re publica constituenda.

All applicants interested in a provincial role must engage with the listed contact for the particular position of interest. Correspondence concerning a position should include the following information:

  • Full Nova Roma citizen name.
  • Nova Roma Citizen ID.
  • Nova Roma citizenship application date.
  • Nova Roma Album Civium entry web link.
  • Best way to contact you.
  • Why you are interested in the position.
  • The city and postcode of where you live.

All applicants must be registered as a citizen for at least 6 months and ideally be considered a permanent resident (although not mandatory) within Provincia Australia (Australia and New Zealand). Each applicant will be required to participate in an online personal interview with the governor or their representative.

Service Points For Municipal Offices within Lex Arria de censu civium aestimando. Citizens may hold more than one provincial position, but get points for the highest one only.

The governor's consilium provinciae is an advisory body, traditionally made up of senior provincial staff. It is considered honorary and a position of influence in Provincia Australia to have a seat in this inner circle.
Senatus consultum de praesidibus provinciarum enables the governor to appoint up to two legates, a right normally only reserved for the senate.

Provincial Quaestor
(Quaestor Provinciae Australiae, Quaestor Propraetoris Australiae) 		Elected by the quirites of Nova Roma, a quaestor may be appointed to this position by the governor. This position is a direct deputy to the governor. They may lead in the governor's absence or when the governor is incapacitated in anyway. Therefore, can hold the full powers of the governor when the governor cannot perform their duties or as otherwise directed. Is permitted to hold personal identifiable information of provincial citizens in accordance with the lex Galeria. After the term as quaestor, they may automatically become a proquaestor and continue in this post at the governor's discretion. 1st Rank
(one per provincia) 		11 CPs Must be a serving quaestor. There cannot simultaneously be a serving Lieutenant Governor. Provincial Sacerdos
(Sacerdos Provinciae) 		Chief Religious Advisor. Chief advisor to the Governor on all matters of the Cultus deorum Romanorum. Must prepare and conduct rites on behalf of the Consilium Provinciae. Provincial Sacerdos

Chief of Staff
(Praefectus) 		Head of the Governor's Cohors. The 'aide-de-camp'. This leadership position helps manage all other office roles and coordinates meetings and tasks on behalf of the governor and other Consilium Provinciae. They are well versed in all office positions and can provide services or support where subordinate staff are otherwise unavailable. They can also represent the governor in senior meetings and relations back to central government magistracies. This is a privelaged position, only granted after demonstrated service in lower offices. 2nd Rank

(Grammaticus Princeps) 		Head advisor to the Governor on all Latin language matters. Legislation, communication and various digital information require updates or directed translation into Latin from English. The Chief Language Advisor will complete adhoc tasking and small translation projects issued from the governor and aid the work of other officers within the praetroium. 2nd Rank
