M. Cassius Iulianus, pater patriae, is one of the two leading founders of Nova Roma, a consular, and the first pontifex maximus of Nova Roma. He served two terms as consul, with the same colleague for both, and he was a senator for several years.

M. Cassius was the original author of the Declaration of Nova Roma and the Declaration of Roman Religion and the List of Roman Virtues promoted by Nova Roma, designed the official emblem of Nova Roma and he was the first producer of NR flags and the first issue of Nova Roman coinage. Cassius founded and originally he owned the official website of Nova Roma (www.novaroma.org).
