A senatus consultum ("advice of the senate") is the decision of the senate on a subject brought before it by a magistrate who have the power to call the Senate to order and to preside it. In ancient times senatus consulta had no legal force, though they have a strong moral authority. In Nova Roma, the Constitution has included them in the hierarchy of legal norms.
